ANDREW LANDERYOU IN PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY PROBE

The Victorian Parliament’s Electoral Matters Committee has been established to inquire into the conduct of the 2006 Victorian State Election.

The Committee is set to report back to Parliament by 30 June 2007.

Immediately following the election result, Andrew Landeryou was vociferous in his claims about all manner of incompetence by the Electoral Commission in its handling of the election count.

Will Landeryou make a written submission to the Inquiry? Will he back up his comments with documented allegations?

Team Slanderyou looks forward to reading the submission; but why do we doubt that there ever will be a submission?

"Members of the OC" - unicorns?

Andrew Landeryou loves to refer to the faceless people (imaginary if you will) that inhabit the ALP like virulent cadres.

He is at it again, this time referring to "Members of the OC" who are supposedly at the National Conference.

While you enjoy your hard earned weekend, here are some questions to consider:

1. if the ALP is infiltrated with Landeryou's lackeys, how should the ALP name and shame these people?
2. do they infact exist; are they real? Landeryou has a habit of inventing fake people, like Freedom Freddy.
3. is Andy just a joke?

Andrew Landeryou in another financial mess (again!)

We reported the other day that officially, Landeryou's blog according to the prestigious blog traffic rankings provider, Alexa, is ranked a staggering 11,019 in Australia. (see bottom of page of the link).

Not only is Landeryou's blog crashing in the rating stakes, it is also struggling as a going concern financially.




According to AdBrite, which runs an online advertising service, advertising on Landeryou's blog is nonexistent: not surprising given that the blog only has, again according to Adbrite, 1 unique user per day.

A patriotic and honest reader of this blog commented that Landeryou's blog is "Not even in the Top 100 Australian Blogs Index".

We checked, and of course our reader was right! (as usual).

And we did a little more work on this issue and found that, according to the prestigious blog traffic rankings provider, Alexa, Landeryou is ranked a staggering 11,019 in Australia. (see bottom of page of the link)

Were we the only ones who thought that number was too high?

Slanderyou makes Hansard! Disinfectant to Andrew Landeryou

Andrew Landeryou was mentioned in Hansard, as was this blog.

The odd thing is why was the Green MP referencing Andrew Landeryou, whom The Australian records as a Liberal Party blogger.

At first thought, we figured is was due to the preference deal between the Liberals and the Greens at the last state election.

But then again, perhaps it was an innocent mistake, a typo, as the draft Hansard has yet to record: “He (Landeryou) is obviously well MISinformed about matters that move through this chamber”.

Let’s hope Landeryou hasn’t infected Hansard as his blog has infected the archives of the National Library.

There are at least a number of politicians hoping that won’t happen. For example, Bruce Atkinson said in Parliament (into Hansard!): “It is interesting that on the Internet at the moment Andrew Landeryou is running around defaming quite a number of people.”

Or this “(the problem with) Mr Landeryou is that he can hardly ever get his facts right on the blog site”, read into the Federal Parliament’s Hansard, by Gavan O’Connor, in 2005.

Weekend venting session

Here is a conversation starter: our sources in the exclusive Sentinel building tell us Andy may have taken delivery of a very shiney European vroom vroom. (Aparrently Andy loves making the noise the engine makes to his friends over drinkies).

So MUSU was just a mistake!

Let's take a quick step back in time to July 2005. Lachlan Murdoch had just resigned from News Corp.

Andrew Landeryou comments on the news: "From what I’ve always heard, Lachlan’s competence and diligence are unquestioned, the OneTel thing being a mistake but over-enthusiasm for IT&T assets was certainly not unique to him in the late 90’s".

Interesting how Landeryou suggests that the collapse of the billionaire dollar telephoney company, OneTel, was just an enthusiastic mistake. Wasn't Andy also involved in enthusiastic IT&T assets: IQ Corp anyone?

KK caught Landeryou out with this comment: "...sort of like your (Landeryou's) enthusiasm for real estate assets, eh Andy? just a bit of a mistake at Melb Uni was it?" Read on, KK was certainly flying the flag for 'full disclosure' that day.

COSTA RICA: finger licking good!

Investigations into Andrew Landeryou's time in Costa Rica (not surprisingly perhaps) came to very abrupt, and often well hidden dead ends.

For someone that spent near on 5 months in the country, residents were very tight lipped about Landeryou's comings and goings.

What was particularly interesting was that Landeryou claimed that he was in Costa Rica to pursue his online gaming spivery activities. What is interesting about this is that he appears to have funded his time in CR exclusively from funds directly transferred into the country (from Australia perhaps?).

According to CR's very stringent work and immigration laws: "... you must either be a citizen of Costa Rica or have legal Permanent Residency. With any other residency (rentista, pensionado, etc), you CAN (sic) own a business but you can not work in that business."

So, Landeryou could not have (legally) earned income from working in CR. If he did hold down a job, he was operating illegally. Did he then go to CR to buy a business, as he claimed?

An interesting fact is that: "Costa Rica is home to more than 200 online gambling companies, but the Central American country actually has no legislation specifically dealing with gambling over the Internet."

So, why was Landeryou so keen to exploit such an unregulated gaming market?

On a side issue, we discovered that MacDonald's, Burger King and KFC have HOME DELIVERY in Costa Rica. Another reason why Landeryou spent so long in CR.

Blogging Code of Conduct & Andrew Landeryou

A hot blog topic at the moment is that of the promulgation of a Bloggers' Code of Conduct.

We then had cause to wonder how Andrew Landeryou would fair, especially given his record:

- claiming to have won a Walkeys Blog Award, when no such award exists
- claiming to be a journalist, when in fact that is a blatant misrepresentation
- for services to ‘bankrupt online gaming spivery’
- being a tireless promoter of KFC family buckets and single-handedly causing the obesity epidemic
- for services to creative defamation and sleaze
- for services as a clinical case study of narcissism, and
- attempting to shut down blogs.

We guess, it wouldn't matter to Andy, as one of his favourite pastimes is to breach Codes of Conduct.

HAPPY EASTER: A COSTA RICA UPDATE

Costa Rica is indeed a fascinating country: from the beautiful beaches to the simply stunning rainforest areas. And the people are so friendly.

Team Slanderyou had intended to post regularly on our ongoing investigation into Andrew Landeryou’s time in Costa Rica. But because of difficulties with finding internet cafes, we were unable to do so.

However, we have extended our time overseas, to include Jamaica, as we hope to get in a few matches of the cricket World Cup.

But, as a teaser, we can reveal that we did find out a number of interesting facts about Landeryou and what he was up to in Costa Rica. More of that to come.

In the meantime, you might want to consider and comment on the following stories and issues raised by others concerning Landeryou’s recent editorials.

- Tim Dunlop, a man that Landeryou has personally vilified on his blog, provided a significant link to a Landeryou non-story. Why Dunlop would provide Landeryou with such a profile is surprising to say the least.

- This sounds a little closer to the truth: “…Andrew Landeryou's rather nasty Melbourne-based, scandal-happy political blog”.

- And more ‘closer’ to the truth: “(Landeryou’s) usual tabloidish character assassination pieces”.
