Andrew Landeryou is not and has never been against universal suffrage. The ALP fought long and hard for universal suffrage in Victoria. It wasn't until 1950 that universal suffrage was introduced for the Legislative Council, by the then Country Party as a condition of ALP support for the McDonald government. The Liberal Party opposed it.
The ALP introduced adult suffrage in municipal elections in Victoria as recently as 1982. Prior to that only ratepayers and principal occupiers could vote. We don't have universal suffrage though in local government, as ratepayers also get a vote if they don't live in the municipality. Also non-naturalised migrants get a vote in local government elections as well as other persons eligible to vote.
I do not believe Andrew is against a fundamental ALP policy.
Perhaps the real Cait Catt or Catter8 could enlighten us about what Andrew really thinks on this matter.

This is a criticism of Landeryou. It is not proof that Landeryou is opposed to universal suffrage.

Could someone tell me what universal suffrage is? Is it all adults over 21? Is it all adults over 18? Is it all persons over 16? Does it include inmates of our prisons?
Some people in the Greens want the voting age lowered to 16. Family First wants all felons excluded from voting like they do in Florida. The first would be universal suffrage I imagine. The last wouldn't. Could anyone please give me a workable definition. Cait Catt or Catter8 please?
I do not think 4.36.00 that you are likely to get an intelligent response about this from either Cait Catt or Catter8. Both Catts seem to be experts on the subject of catching AIDS from dunny seats but little else.

What's Landeryou got against The Age? It's his primary news source with the overwhelming majority of his blog items referencing reports in The Age, linking to its stories and happily using its photos.

I wonder whether it has anything to do with the fact that Darren Ray is due to face criminal charges next week in the County Court and Landeryou is trying to warn her off following the story.
Landeryou accuses Wood of allegedly taking a bribe from Solly Lew's lawyers.
He was happy defending Lew and taking his money, then Andy lost the bundle.
"Debt Man Walking" only hates Leonie because she objectively reported about his business failure and bankruptcy.
A more balanced person would admit their failure and get on with their life.
