Fat man ‘approaches’ female journalist

Vexnews editor, Andrew Landeryou, has again ‘approached’ a female journalist of The Age.

He’s behind you!

Last Friday, the self-admitted female journalist ‘approacher’ without apparent warning advanced on The Age journalist Caroline Webb.

Landeryou committed the deed at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court.

Landeryou is no stranger to ‘approaching’ female journalists of The Age. In 2007 he was caught in a late night incident involving another female journalist of the same newspaper. He has also undertaken surveillance of Leonie Wood, another The Age journalist.

Serial court pest

Landeryou was in familiar environs at the MMC and legal surrounds, and is often seen clogging up the court system.

In 2005, he was a frequent required attendee of the Melbourne legal precinct fighting off court based investigations into the location of his personal cash-stash.

Landeryou was last seen in public, exiting and laughing in the face of justice, after his legal counterclaims against Les Twentyman were summarily dismissed by the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court.

Then later he proceeded home to the Fat Cave and was filmed eating a snack of KFC.

WHAT IS VEXNEWS ABOUT?

(This will be are only post this week Patriots).

TS has cast a critical eye over Landeryou’s new online spivery, Vexnews.com. In somewhat of a surprising move the unemployed luxury apartment residing (in his Fat Cave) bankrupt and full time failure has appeared to have discarded his Blog of Sleaze for Vexnews which was last valued at $63.

At least he is getting some sort of support from a blogger in the Ukraine!

On further investigation, we came across this page (text below) buried deep in the Vexnews site, highlighting the anomalous philosophy of Vexnews.

And what an interesting read the page is. We have provided the text below, with our questions to Andy in CAPITALS.

“We’re (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY?) VEX because that’s as close to Rupert Murdoch’s FOX as we could get without having legal trouble. (NOT UNUSUAL FOR LANDERYOU!)

We love FOX NEWS, even when we don’t agree with it. (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY? ARE YOU INCLUDING JOE KLEIN, CAIT CATT ETC?) This news service is our homage to its inspiration. (PLAGIARISM IS A BETTER TERM)

We’re (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY?) VEX because vex means to annoy people (JOB DONE LANDERYOU) and that’s precisely what we’ll (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY?) be doing when we’re (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY?) doing our job (YOU/WE HAVE A JOB ANDY?). Speaking truth to power. (WHAT TRUTH?) Afflicting the comfortable. (YOU ARE VERY AFFLICTING LANDERYOU!) Comforting the afflicted. (HOW EXACTLY ANDY, BY FIRST PAYING BACK YOUR CREDITORS PERHAPS?)

VEX also means debating, provoking, confronting, arguing and irking and we’ll be doing plenty of that too. (AND YOU FORGOT TO ADD “CENSORING”)

This is what journalism should be. (BUT YOU ARE NOT A JOURNALIST ANDY!) Indeed for most of our (OUR? WHO IS “OUR”) history it has been except for its modern odious iteration when it pretended to be something it wasn’t: infallible, uninfluenced by cultural bias, pure and omniscient. It’s never been any of those things.

With lefty dominated newsrooms being slashed and burned across the world, we understand the dimension of our responsibility. (THIS IS ILLOGICAL) We are nothing less than the future of news. (BIG CALL THERE ANDY!) Not on our own of course. Our voice should be just part of the beautiful cacophony. But we will be heard. (YES, IN COURT!)

VEXNEWS is ‘free’ because we cherish freedom. (FREE? BECAUSE YOU COULDN’T SELL IT? BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO READERSHIP, NO AUDIENCE?) Freedom from the fundamentalisms of our time, from the Islamists to the extreme Greenists and all those in between (IN BETWEEN? SOUNDS LIKE 99.99% OF THE POPULATION) who struggle to understand that the vast majority of people just want to live their lives with a minimum of unnecessary meddling from others. (SO WHY DO YOU MEDDLE IN OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES?)

We’re free because this web service is priceless. (PRICELESS! YOU MEAN VALUELESS)

Free for all because our approach is rigorous, courageous and at times perhaps reminiscent of televised wrestling matches(YOU MEAN FAKED!) (we prefer caged style) (LIKE KFC CHICKEN?).

Dictionary.com says ‘free for all’ means:

1. a fight, argument, contest, etc., open to everyone and usually without rules.
2. any competition or contested situation that is disordered, impulsive, or out of control: a free-for-all at the buffet table.
3. Informal. any enterprise or field of endeavor in which various companies, countries, participants, etc., compete without restriction: a price-cutting free-for-all among local stores. –adjective
4. open to everyone.

And that’s precisely what we’ll (WHO IS ‘WE’ ANDY?) be.”

Patrots are reminded of our story in February when we discovered whether Landeryou had registered the domain name andrewlanderyou.com.

And not to our surprise, he had, or rather someone had.

We trolled a little deeper and we found a number of curious details.

The registrant of the domain name is:

Wan-Fu China, Ltd. (ANDREWLANDERYOU-COM-DOM)

P.O.Box CB-11901

Nassau, BS

Nassau is a lovely place, from everything we’ve heard. Curiously, it is very close to unregulated online gaming spivery hotspot Costa Rica, where Landeryou has spent considerable time.

Then we discovered that wanfuchina.com have been up to no good: caught red handed initiating unsolicited and internet threatening browser pop-up ads and spam.

The internet police, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, has since become involved. The WIPO Administrative Panel on October 30, 2007 threw the ‘virtual’ book at Wanfunchina.

What is additionally interesting is that Wanfunchina has registered a domain name EBET888-COM-DOM. It is only conjecture, but doesn’t EBet sound like something to do with gambling? Online gaming spivery to be exact! Coincidence?

Andy, but Jaspan is still here? (UPDATED)

UPDATE
A patriot informs us that Landeryou's lack of forecasting ability also extends to: "Caroline Wilson to leave The Age (still there), Philip Ruddock to retire before the 2007 federal election (re-elected) and - by far way the best to date - a Lib-Nat victory at last year's poll."

Which reminded us that Landeryou backed the Coalition to win with $100 wagers.

And in 2006 Landeryou displayed another example of his lack of business skill and forecasting ability, when he trumpeted a website that he claimed would soon rival The Age.

ORIGINAL
In June 2007, Andrew Landeryou forecast: "Left-wing Australian newspaper, Melbourne's The Age is set to dump its Editor-in-Chief Andrew Jaspan".

It is now February 2008. Jaspan is still the Editor!

Is this another of many examples of Landeryou's poor forecasting skills via his Blog of Sleaze?

Landeryou signs off his Media Release with: "For further information on the Australian media from a fair and balanced perspective, read Andrew Landeryou's The Other Cheek". Fair and balanced?

Leonie Wood & Andrew Landeryou

Leonie Wood has recently published a book on Steven Vizard, titled Funny Business.
"The definitive story of disgraced high-flying businessman Steve Vizard, one-time comedian and two-time Gold Logie winner. Age journalist Leonie Wood has covered the Vizard story since he first appeared before ASIC in 2005, admitting to insider trading. More recently she reported on the trial of Vizard's former accountant, Roy Hilliard, who is alleged to have swindled Vizard of $3 million. During that trial, Hilliard portrayed Vizard as a master of deception whose public persona was a charade. In this engaging examination of Vizard's fall from grace, Wood seeks to uncover the man behind the mask, and asks, why did he do it? Was it greed, audacity or sheer stupidity? And what do we really know about Steve Vizard?"
Leonie Wood has also written extensively on Andrew Landeryou. What should Wood call her book on Landeryou?

See you all next Wednesday, with a story about MUSU.

Meanwhile, Andrew Landeryou names names.....

Andrew Landeryou is really good at breaching ethic standards, in particular the AJA Code of Ethics.

In a new low, the Essendon supporter names a Hawthorn footballer as a drug cheat.

Andrew Landeryou has been previously indicted for offences including:

- claiming to have won a Walkeys Blog Award, when no such award exists
- claiming to be a journalist, when in fact that is a blatant misrepresentation
- for services to ‘bankrupt online gaming spivery’
- being a tireless promoter of KFC family buckets and single-handedly causing the obesity epidemic
- for services to creative defamation and sleaze
- for services as a clinical case study of narcissism, and
- attempting to shut down blogs.

A charge of vicious and malicious parking is still to be determined.

The Pippos mess

The Angela Pippos mess has left a significant bad taste in the mouth. What are your thoughts on the matter. Landeryou is claiming he was in the know! But how much, looks doutbful.

What's with elements of the ALP wanting to populate Parliament with journalists? Is that Landeryou's way into Parliament?

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: THE PICKLE CODE - LANDERYOU EDITS OUT TRUTH

Andrew Landeryou is the author of Australia’s sleaziest political blog, The Offal Pickle.

He heavily features sleaze, half naked footballers, and other assorted nastiness. So much so, that his blog has been described as "Crap".

A prominent feature of his editorial policy is his relentless editing and deletion of any opinion, comment, viewpoint, that seeks to counter and correct the public record as a result of him publishing his sleazy opinions.

Now the truth can be revealed.

Landeryou, has publicly admitted to the devious art of deleting comments from his blog that disagree with him and question his logic (rather lack of it).

There are so many victims of this discriminatory policy. One reader to this blog, The Dark Rider

wrote:

After watching my comments being edited and deleted, I realised unless I was willing to set up a blog and devote a lot of time to making it work, I wouldn’t be able to achieve the level of debate and closer scrutiny I think a lot of his ‘reports’ deserve. If nothing else, a forum where dissenting views to Landeryou’s can be put forward without being sabotaged would be a great start.”

We can now reveal that Landeryou has learnt the art of comment deletion here. Not only that, he has reveled in revealing that he has used this devious technique often.

Landeryou in August of 2005 wrote:

great tip (sic) I use it all the time”.

At the time Landeryou wrote this, he was a member of the Australian Journalist Association, and who later went on to successfully breach every possible clause within the Association’s Code of Ethics.

No wonder Landeryou’s nickname is Pickle!

If you are a victim, please let us know in the comments section.

Plagiarist: "...the attention-seeking, loathsome windbag"

Earlier this month, we brought to you one colourful description of Andy Landy: "Disgusting web filth".

It seems that colourful accurate descriptions of Landeryou follow him all over the blogosphere.

This blogger calls Landeryou an "...attention-seeking, loathsome windbag".

Be careful dear readers, as Landeryou may indeed sit on you.

Alternatively, he could call you a plagiarist, when in fact Landeryou has been caught out on at least two occasions on plagiarist charges. And let's not discuss his fake Walkley.

And we keep coming back to money

Andrew Landeryou has been bankrupt since February last year. The question remains: where is Landeryou drawing an income? Is he on unemployment benefits? Has he other income streams.

Is he earning an income from being a faux journalist? His blog is insolvent. But that hasn't stopped people asking relevant questions.

Take for example the following observations.
"For a start, he is not a businessman. Do a Google search and you will see he is a full-time journalist and publisher." If he is a fulltime journalist, where does his journalism appear? If he is a publisher, what has he published? Running a blog is neither journalism nor publishing, it is blogging. If he makes his living through revenue from the blog, that is a business and makes him a businessman, not a journalist. I am not privy to his personal affairs but as far as I know he has made his living in recent years solely as some kind of businessman. At present he may be an unemployed or self-employed businessman, but businessman still seems to be the best description.

A "fulltime journalist" is a person who makes their living from fulltime journalism - being paid to write for a media organisation of some kind. Landeryou does not get paid to write for his own blog, or anywhere else so far as I know. Even if his blog was pure news (which of course it isn't, it's 80% opinion and satire), that wouldn't make him a journalist, and certainly not a fulltime one. As a self-supporting blogger he is in a different category to someone like Margo Kingston, who is paid by the SMH to write her webdiary.

A self-employed (or freelance) journalist is one who makes their living selling articles to media outlets. That is not what Landeryou does. I presume he makes a bit of money selling advertising space on his blog, but he does not sell his writing to anyone, which is what journalists do. He is no more a journalist because he owns a blog than Kerry Packer was a journalist because he owned the Bulletin. I have no idea what AL's current income source is, so "businessman" is the politest term to use.

We are arguing in the dark here because I don't know what AL's current source of income is, and I don't expect you to disclose it here. I suspect at the moment he is not anything in an occupational sense. Of course it is not necessary to be currently employed as something to be described as being that thing in a general sense. A doctor who is not currently working as a doctor is still a doctor. But AL so far I know has never worked as a journalist (correct me if I'm wrong). He has made a living as a businessman in the past. As I recall he was in Costa Rica looking for investment opportunities, yes? That is what businessmen do. The only public activity he currently undertakes is his blog, which is a business of sorts. Therefore I think he should be described as a businessman until he acquires a new occupation. Any other description will be seen as a euphemism, and to some extent that would be true."

More on Landeryou's Costa Rican adventure here.

PREJUDICE EXPRESSED

We have interrupted our Landeryou free week to bring you this story.

Tim Blair is running an article about the issue of online comments and editorial policy matters.

We are reminded of the many hundreds of people who have posted comments on Andrew Landeryou's blog of sleaze, only to have them summarily scrubbed, without explanation or for that matter application of editorial or free speech consistency.

And of course, there is also the threat of litigation that the "bankrupt" Landeryou throws about like confetti.

Landeryou caught out again

Kim Jong Il look alike Andrew Landeryou has been embroiled in another breach of copyright controversy.

In January, Slanderyou reported that

Landeryou posted this commentary. It includes references to Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Bankstown City Council, and a YouTube vid. Read Landeryou’s article closely. Then go to Neozionoid’s article which was published EARLIER ON THE SAME DAY. Notice any similarities? The one major stand out, among many, is that Landeryou includes every reference cited by Neozionoid, including the YouTube vid. Coincidence?

It’s interesting that Landeryou would do a cut and paste of Neozionoid, who in the past has written that he doesn’t consider Landeryou’s blog to be well regarded. Perhaps that explains why and how Landeryou thought he could get away with it, thinking that the two blogs shared different audiences, and thus he would never be found out.

Team Slanderyou can now report that in April, Landeryou was at it again, with an Australian vigilent patriot reporting that:

"Andrew Landeryou's rather nasty Melbourne-based, scandal-happy political blog The Other Cheek, needed to make a crude distortion of Juanita Wheeler for a story about a hotly-contested Queensland Greens preselection. So he used this photo, but didn't credit it as he should have under the Creative Commons Attribution Licence (you can use the photo as you like as far as I am concerned, but you have to credit it). "

Landeryou has now "struck out"twice.

Andrew Landeryou & Commitment Phobia (UPDATED)

UPDATE
We should of course remind readers that we first exposed Landeryou as claiming to be a member of the AWU as far back as 1999.

ORIGINAL
As Andrew Landeryou’s unofficial but accurate biographer, Team Slanderyou continually finds reoccurring themes in AL’s story.

One is his ability to break commitments and pledges.

A prominent example of this was his persistent breaching of the AJA Code of Ethics, when he was a member of that proud union.

Another occurred when he was a member of the ALP.

As part of the annual membership (renewal) pledge, the member must comply that: “If I employ labour, I will actively encourage trade union membership”. Advice we received is that, the now Liberal Party blogger, but then employer at IQ Corp didn’t always comply with this pledge.

Is Andrew commitment phobic?

Ps: happy weekend.

Blogging Code of Conduct & Andrew Landeryou

A hot blog topic at the moment is that of the promulgation of a Bloggers' Code of Conduct.

We then had cause to wonder how Andrew Landeryou would fair, especially given his record:

- claiming to have won a Walkeys Blog Award, when no such award exists
- claiming to be a journalist, when in fact that is a blatant misrepresentation
- for services to ‘bankrupt online gaming spivery’
- being a tireless promoter of KFC family buckets and single-handedly causing the obesity epidemic
- for services to creative defamation and sleaze
- for services as a clinical case study of narcissism, and
- attempting to shut down blogs.

We guess, it wouldn't matter to Andy, as one of his favourite pastimes is to breach Codes of Conduct.

HAPPY EASTER: A COSTA RICA UPDATE

Costa Rica is indeed a fascinating country: from the beautiful beaches to the simply stunning rainforest areas. And the people are so friendly.

Team Slanderyou had intended to post regularly on our ongoing investigation into Andrew Landeryou’s time in Costa Rica. But because of difficulties with finding internet cafes, we were unable to do so.

However, we have extended our time overseas, to include Jamaica, as we hope to get in a few matches of the cricket World Cup.

But, as a teaser, we can reveal that we did find out a number of interesting facts about Landeryou and what he was up to in Costa Rica. More of that to come.

In the meantime, you might want to consider and comment on the following stories and issues raised by others concerning Landeryou’s recent editorials.

- Tim Dunlop, a man that Landeryou has personally vilified on his blog, provided a significant link to a Landeryou non-story. Why Dunlop would provide Landeryou with such a profile is surprising to say the least.

- This sounds a little closer to the truth: “…Andrew Landeryou's rather nasty Melbourne-based, scandal-happy political blog”.

- And more ‘closer’ to the truth: “(Landeryou’s) usual tabloidish character assassination pieces”.

Liberal Party blogger Andrew Landeryou: Breacher criticises! (UPDATED)

UPDATED
Andrew Landeryou has firmly pressed down on the hyperbole button. He is now using the term 'faux-journalist' to criticise a real journalist. An issue for Team Slanderyou is that we used the term, rather successfully, to describe Andy on 1 December 2006.

No need to link to us Andy, this time, but it is usual blog etiquette to do so.

ORIGINAL
Liberal Party blogger, Andrew Landeryou, is running a non-story criticising Stephen Mayne for breaching the AJA's code of ethics.

How does Landeryou's criticisms stack up with his own significant breaches of the code? Landeryou's history with the AJA is recorded here and here.

ANDREW LANDERYOU: PLAGIARIST NOT “WELL REGARDED” BY VICTIM

Andrew Landeryou is simply a one-man train wreck: the accident is horrific, but you dare not turn away.

The Team Slanderyou Special Investigations Unit has listed Landeryou’s many offences:

- claiming to have won a Walkeys Blog Award, when no such award exists
- claiming to be a journalist, when in fact that is a blatant misrepresentation

- being a tireless promoter of KFC family buckets and single-handedly causing the obesity epidemic

- for services to creative defamation and sleaze

- for services as a clinical case study of narcissism, and

- attempting to shut down blogs.

Now, the Team Slanderyou Special Investigations Unit can add a new one: plagiarism.

Journalists who have worked for politicians: Where is Andrew Landeryou?

Crikey yesterday published a list in its daily e-newsletter titled "Journalists who have worked for politicians".

Lots of names. Lots of memories.

But oh dear! Where is Andrew Landeryou?

The list was alphabetical. Where Landeryou's name should have been - well, it wasn't there.

Hugo Kelly: The Age, Brian Howe, Richard Ellis, Crikey
Christian Kerr: Christopher Pyne, Robert Hill, Amanda Vanstone, John Olsen, Balderstone Hornibrook, Crikey
Rebecca Lang: Herald Sun, AAP, Phil Koperberg, Bob Debus (NSW ALP), Sydney Express, Sun-Herald, North Shore Times, Sunday Telegraph
Michael Magazanik: The Age, Duncan Kerr, Australian, ABC Television, Victorian Parliament
Terry Maher: AFR, Alan Stockdale, Melbourne Times, Zeitgeist, Carlton PR firm, Crikey (occasionally)
Stephen Mayne: Herald Sun, Age, Jeff Kennett, Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph, Fin Review, The Eye, Crikey
John McCarthy: Nick Greiner, Courier-Mail

Andrew Landeryou worked for his father Bill between 1989-91.

But perhaps we missed something? What could that be? Oh, yes, the key word is 'journalist'. Our mistake! Landeryou isn't one.
